SOENECS is an independent research & advisory practice set up in June 2014, by it's managing director, Dr David Greenfield, to provide strategic advice and support to the public and private sectors. SOENECS specialises in the fields of waste management, resource management, climate change, circular economy, renewable deployment, carbon management and partnership delivery.

In its first year of trading, SOENECS has worked with and advised private sector companies, venture capitalists, central, regional and local government. In August 2014, SOENECS formed a consortium with planning, architect and waste operation colleagues BPP Consulting to successfully bid for the London Waste and Recycling Board (LWARB) and London Environment Directors Network (LEDNET) prepare a template planning policy and operational waste strategy for use by London Boroughs and developers (Strategy.)​


The staff at SOENECS have over 16 years experience in the public sector and are able to bring a wealth of experience at local, regional and national government. The solutions that SOENECS can offer to organisations range from project and programme development, procurement advice, efficiency and improvement advice and political understanding and critiquing.
